Ayu's Singles's Sales Discussion: Mirrorcle World?

I was looking at Ayu's singles' sales performances, here is my spreadsheet :)

and I was wondering whether Mirrorcle World might be a bit of a "spike".

It is her 10th anniversary, and I feel a lot of fans will want to support her on this release. I also know a lot of people liked mirror and are/will be impressed with mirrorcle world. I also know the First Press seems to be selling pretty well. And I also know the covers are super awesome and everyone wants a copy!

Also, I wanted to show the relationship between first week sales and total sales, cos if we know how many first press there were, and that they've all sold out, we might have a good indication of the singles performance.

That's a very helpful spreadsheet! I think it will be a peak as well. I have a feeling that the limited editions alone, assuming that they're limited to 100,000 copies, will greatly contribute to the sales. The collection factor really helps.

I was going to just buy the CD-only versions (because the special first press case didn't sway me) but once CDJapan confirmed more first pressings, I cracked and purchased both Jacket A & C because I like collecting posters.

I was planning to get the single anyway since I'm an ayu collector, but once I saw the covers I knew I definitely had to get both cd+dvd editions :D

Well I usually buy her releases, so of course I'm going to buy this one too.

To support Ayu's 10th anniversary, to be able to look back in 4 years on the single that she released on her 10th anniversary (the exact date!) <33 nostalgia; and to get the poster, and the cover is GORGEOUS. I've never bought a single in my life before so this is pretty unique, lol.

Edit: Nice spreadsheet! But why is H the only #1 yearly, while other singles sold better? Like M.~ It's odd. Freaky that M sold more than evolution, yet evolution seems to be the more popular of the two. And it also sucks that her sales are so long, while IMO her newer songs are better. Oh well. XD

it may be odd, but things vary from year to year, so if H is the only #1 yearly, even though M sold more, it must just be that in H's year there was less competition, or maybe in M's year sales were up overall anyway. Just like in recent times they seem to be quite considerably DOWN overall (the whole industry, not just ayu).

But in the recent period, ayu's singles sales have been pretty consistent, and now there is a considerable down trend. I just hope (and i do believe) that Mirrorcle World will break that trend. But I'm still not expecting anything liek the sales from before. I think those days are gone.

Yea, I agree. Even if she wrote her absolute BEST song yet (better than M and evolution combined!) she couldn't even break the 1 million record. :S

My main reason is the gorgeous cover, but the song is also really awesome

mine was originally excel, but google docs is quite handy....i can update my doc online, and the link will always link to the updated version....

I think just having one #1 yearly is an amazing accomplishment for a female solo artist that isn't Utada Hikaru. :D

A lot of reasons for me, lol. I love the song, the cover is amazing, I want to buy it since its her 10th anniversary sort, & POSTER! :D This will be my first Ayu single I bought lol.

and for mirrorcle world, i love the song, i love the cover...so i will buy it
