The Akeboshi Thread

I've seen a few mentions of him round here and seeing as it'd hard to find Akeboshi fans thought I'd start a thread to get us all together!

He seems to be more active than he has in previous years (when he used to only release a mini album a year).

So what does everyone think of his latest album and what are your fave songs?

I do usually prefer when an artist is on their CD covers but I really love the Meet Along The Way cover, booklet and CDs.

My fave songs are:

Wind
Tall Boy
One Step Behind The Door (which I only heard recently - how did I go for so long without this song?)
Rusty Lance
Yellow Moon

His Meet Along The Way album is really nice and relaxing too, though it does seem a bit sad sounding at times. Not that his previous album was totally happy.

Anyway...lets get this thread going. Hope we news of a new release soon, eh?

Oh and official site:

his lyrics are amaizing!!!

my favs songs:

Tall boy

One step behind the door

I think he's a cool guy

and...

LET'S MAKE THIS THREAD ROCKS!!!

^I know! We need to keep this thread going, even if it's just us lol. Though new material would help. I'd usually keep away from new stuff to avoid spoiling myself but Akeboshi is a little unpredictable release-pattern wise. He has become more regular recently though.

I would like to see some better PVs from him. I don't think I've seen them all. Rusty Lance doesn't have one, does it? I would say from what I've seen (a total of oooh 3 PVs) my favourite is Yellow Moon. That PV always gives me a nolstalgic feeling. I heard of Akeboshi through Naruto which my friend showed me and I'm really glad she did even though I'm not a huge fan of it. I just always looked forward to the ending theme lol.

I really like his lyrics too and I'm not a lyrics person. All the usual breakup/love songs don't usually appeal to me, though very few lyrics do. I like lyrics describing scenery or telling a story like Akeboshi's. (I also really like the lyrics from Hyde's Roentgen album, like White Song because of the scenery descriptions). My fave lyrics from Akeboshi are:

"A couple of rabbits come out from nowhere
wriggling their ears, always together"

^ I always think that one is really cute lol.

And I like the way the "I have stories to tell you tonight" line in Yellow Bird.

I like the lyrics from One Step Behind The Door though I don't have them to hand right now.

I also liked how he had an interlude in Gaelic on Meet Along The Way as I'm from Scotland.

yep his lyrics are so cute ^^

and in fact a friend show me Naruto too and I fall in love with the Wind song!!!
is so sad that no one know who is he -_- his music is amaizing, is one of my favorites singers...

and I think this is one of my favorite lyrics:
"You still are blind if you see winding road
'cos there's always a straight way to the point you see"

Foxxy_Fuyumi 29th March 2008 10:48 PM

Hello other Akeboshi fans! I love some of their songs, like "Wind" and a few others.

But they disappeared for a year now right? :weep

When are they going to release new music? :(

Aderianu 9th June 2009 07:40 PM

I know and love only one song - Wind

rookies 9th June 2009 07:44 PM

^ That was the song that got me into their music. I first heard it from Naruto anime, lol.

The lyrics of the song were really good. And I like the music arrangement as well.

zyoeru 12th July 2009 11:21 AM

Ah... I just found out about him. I've been listening to a few of his songs. Really love Wind, Yellow Moon and Peruna. ^^

rookies 12th July 2009 09:41 PM

So, does anyone know what they are up to nowadays?

Oh, and the first time I heard Wind, I cried because some of the lyrics really touched me. I dunno, maybe I'm the only one who thought the lyrics were emotional.

mi|kshake 12th July 2009 10:47 PM

Wind is a brilliant song!

Last I heard was that Roundabout was his last album with his label. So not sure if he's got a new label yet.

Surprised he hasn't set up an english Myspace or something - he should!

Here's a link to the interview where he mentions he's left Epic:

http://www.mimu-net.net/en/article_v...p?articleid=52

Quite interesting - plus it's the only interview with him I've ever read!
