Arena Tour 2007 and Moulin Rouge!
This is so random. I was talking with zoomzoom about Moulin Rouge and BOOM! we suddenly saw some similarities between ayu's AT 07 evolution's outfit, and Nicole Kidman's one.
Ayu: http://img30.picoodle.com/img/img30/...0m_c644a5e.jpg http://img29.picoodle.com/img/img29/...0m_c56c7b8.jpg http://img37.picoodle.com/img/img37/...0m_b2aae90.jpg Nicole: http://img30.picoodle.com/img/img30/...nm_927d70b.jpg So what do u think about it? We think it can't be just a coincidence Screencaps by zoomzoom |
I saw that too! The swings are nearly exactly the same. I also think the white outfit Ayu wears at the end is a bit like the pink outfit Nicole Kidman wears in the movie following the swing outfit.
|
Hmm...maybe she liked the style and ran with it? I actually like Ayu's outfit better, it's a little more...fluffy! xD <= I don't know how else to describe it really...^^;
|
The thing that jumped to my eyes was the swing. I never saw the movie, so when I saw a clip of it with Nicole Kidman on a swing, I instantly recognized the swing as identical to ayu's in her opening performance. It's a pretty unique swing, I didn't even think twice about it. From there I noticed their outfits looked pretty similar, with the hat and gold and all.
|
yep that's true... good observation guys reminds me like Moulin Rouge movie...
It will be more impresive Ayu moves like Nicole XD "the french are glad to die for love...* I think is a concidence... dunno.. I like it very much that performance... so if is a copy or not.. is OK... IS MY FAVORITE!!! ^_____^ |
LOL omgosh guilty XD! they look SO similar XD Who knows if its a coincedence or not *shrugs* XD At least tahts what I think. W.e. Ayu looks better than nicole kidman in it neways =P! IMO at least XD
|
woww...
at least the swinging on AT07 is really similar.. woww..nice!!! thanks for pointing it out :) yea, maybe ayu got the inspiration from moulin rouge~ |
Well IMO most of the concert was Moulin Rouge inspired. The swing, the set, the costumes. The end of the concert is also Moulin Rouge inspired with the hearts in the back and the feathered costumes.
Look here: http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/7...malade2fn7.jpg People shouldn't take it as copying, it's really just inspiration from the Moulin Rouge. |
I would never have connected it that way. :laugh I see it now though.
|
Looks like she copied but then again who cares. XD She should copy medieval movies like King Arthur for AT09. <33
|
IT's pretty obious and it makes a pretty stage. Fit for ayu.
|
well
paris hilton Can Can adv also has that kind of outfit ayu's wearing in AT07 Boys & Girls and the Heart Shape lights in the BG |
lol... humans need more brain juices to be creative.
|
yah. it's little similar.but i dont care about that
|
i think that kind of theme is so general...so we can't say she copy it...
i just feel so tired with this kind of discussion... |
yeah yeah, these moulin rouge theme is very common :)

Even though I saw "Moulin Rouge!" way before any pictures of Arena Tour 2007, I didn't notice the similarity in the swing scene! ^^ That'd be interesting to see Ayu sing "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend." :laugh
Raelian, after looking at your post, I never realised how much musical inspirations there were in her tours! The "Come What May" and "INSPIRE" outfit are certainly similar, as is the "Prima Donna" outfit/"HAPPY ENDING" outfit and the ballet after "Ill Muto"/"M." Hmm... After seeing how similarities are found in "Moulin Rouge!" and "Phantom of the Opera," something tells me I'll expect a good answer from my submitted "I want to ask Ayu this!" question ("What musicals have you seen?"). That is, if it's even read. :P |
Whoa Raelian, that's a lot of inspiration she got! I never saw any of these movies.

It's actually pretty cool for me to see the musical ideas. It's pretty obvious that she's taken ideas from the moulin rouge. Her arena tours always tend to be a little on the theatrical side.
I want a west-side story inspired one. :D |
