The Official Maroon 5 Thread ~Take One~

I searched the AHS boards for any Maroon 5 fan threads, but I couldn't find any! So, I felt obligated (hee hee) as a fan to create one!!

I have been a fan of them ever since I saw their music video for "This Love" on MTV. Ever since I listened to that song, they've been in my top three favorite bands list. (another hee hee XD) Currently, they're my third favorite, next to Ayumi Hamasaki and The Veronicas. (Ayu being number 2 and the Veronicas being number one)

My top favorite songs of theirs are Makes Me Wonder, This Love, She Will Be Loved, The Sun, and Wake Up Call. Oh oh, and Won't Go Home Without You is pretty good, too. ^^

I also just recently saw them in concert, with Counting Crows and Augustana. They were pretty awesome. The light show they did for Wake Up Call was really cool, I thought, and it was one of my favorite parts of their performance. ^^

Feel free to share any thoughts you have on the band here.

Well, i'm not a fan of the band, but their music is great and they knew how to mantain the level of sucess and critical acclaim of Songs About Jane in It Won't be Soon Before Long, so good for them! The only song i kinda dislike is the new duet with Rihanna

I used to be absolutely obsessed with Maroon 5!! Like, if I saw or heard them anywhere, I would freak out. O.O And around that time, they were just about the only American band that I listened to. XD

I still like them a lot and keep up with their releases best I can, but I'm not obsessed to the extent that I used to be.

I actually really like that song. But I only like their version without Rihanna. But I hate Rihanna's voice with a passion. x.x So...that probably has something to do with it.

Well since no has be talking in thread I thought I'd share some news with everyone. Maroon 5 will be releasing a remix album on December 9th entitled "Call And Response: The Remix Album". This album is an 18 track album that will feature other others doing remakes of their songs from albums "Songs about Jane" and "It Won't Be Soon Before Long". The album will feature mostly hip-hop artist and here's a list of the speculated guest appearances so far:

Artist:
Swiss Beats
Pharrell Williams
David Banner
Mary J. Blige

Producers:
Just Blaze
DJ Premier
Ali Shaheed Muhammad (I have no clue who this man is)

This project sounds very interesting. This could either turn out to be amazing or ****

ImpactBreaker 4th November 2008 03:57 AM

^When i heard the word "remix" I kinda felt interested, but when you mentioned hip-hop remixes, I just went...oh..hmmm....ok....:rolleyes

I want a new studio album!

I used to be obsessed over Makes Me Wonder, but the song became flatter than a can of coke left opened for the whole week, unfortunately.

WOW I can't believe there wasn't already a thread for them!
They've been my favorite band since I was 13!! :love

VAL 4th November 2008 05:03 AM

In 11 of November I will go to their concert! in Argentina! <3

I love this group! :D
Is so cool that someone did a thread for this amazing group !

Luv ~Venus~ 4th November 2008 06:27 AM

Yay for Marron 5 thread. Did anybody buy their lastest album? It was so good. I luffed every track especially Kiwi, Won't Go home Without You, Wake Up Call, Makes Me Wonder, and If I Never See Your Face Again (ft. Rihanna). :heart

Anybody have a face track in the album?

As for their new release, I think I might buy it if at a resonable price. I think it's a useless release but it'll be good since I like some of the speculated artists on the album.

VAL 4th November 2008 02:48 PM

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet kiwi ! (8) :laugh

I saw them in concert last October with my best friend (who has also been obsessed as long as I have) and they were AMAZING!!
AND! The Hives opened for them, which started another obsession for us lol
They were both really good, and Adam looked sooooo yummy... :love :love :love

Cool, there's a Maroon 5 thread! :cool

I really like their second album, and it has a lot of songs I like. One of the best English albums to come out during 2007 IMO.

Is there any news on anything with the band? Or are they on some hiatus or something?

New info, from wikipedia:

Next studio album

Levine has stated that he believes the band is reaching its peak and may make one more album before disbanding. He explained "Eventually I want to focus on being a completely different person because I don’t know if I want to do this into my 40s and 50s and beyond, like the Rolling Stones." The band hopes to have a new album ready by early 2010.

The band will also perform in Salt Lake City for the Omniture conference. They have revealed titles of five songs from the thirdcoming album; "How", "I'm Never Gonna Leave This Bed", "Wasted Years", "Last Chance", and "Don't Know Much About That".

On 27th November, the new Maroon 5 album will be called Viva, to be released on 16th February 2010. Adam Levine has said that the album will focus more on everyday lives. He said to MTV "Our third album will be quite a departure for us. The relationships, sex and the saucy lyrics have gone and have been replaced by more sensible topics like friendships, love and most importantly of all, fun". He also hopes that this album will be the best they ever made.
So, this is their last album? Nooo!! :(

YuriChan 29th November 2009 03:00 AM

D: But, but I LOVE YOU GUYS! Don't leave!! :(

rookies 16th March 2010 10:29 PM

So, I read wikipedia, and someone has edited the part about the new album, here's what it says now:

Quote:

They have revealed titles of eleven songs from the third, up-coming album; "How", "I'm Never Gonna Leave This Bed", "Wasted Years", "Last Chance", "Don't Know Much About That", "Out of Goodbyes", "I Can't Lie", "Give a Little More", "Misery", "Stutter" and "Hands All Over".

The album was recorded in 2009 in Switzerland, where the band joined forces with legendary producer Mutt Lange.

Rolling Stone reports that their new album is due to be released in June 2010.

Mutt Lange is Shania Twain's husband, so, hmm... that is interesting. I don't know how accurate this info is, but I do hope they can have a new album out by the summer time!
