Uploading an Avatar through an URL
 

whenever i upload a new set, i always upload my icon on tinypic and post it in the URL section of the "Edit Avatar" button. but now when i try to do that, it won't let me. it says there's an error or something. but when i upload an image from my computer instead of an hosting site, it works. just recently has this been happening, so does anyone know what's wrong? i'd appreciate the help.

I've had that problem too recently, I thought the file size bigger than the limit but then I realised it wasn't.

But yeah, anyone know what's with that?

I had the same problem with my fish yesterday.

Upload it on the AHS server until the problem is fixed? Worked for me.

(sorry to add more to the server) I'll be sure to upload it again at a site once it's fixed.


Try to compress it to the lowest possible size.


edit: I think there's just some problems with the site right now, and I think the staff is doing all they can. Just tough it out you guys. Slow loading times, stuff here and there.

It'll all get fixed :)

i cant use a custom image as my avatar. im linking the image from imageshack.

i get this message

Upload failed due to failure writing temporary file.

hope you can help me, staff.

edit, i just tried the upload option and it worked

this always happens lol... it only works for me if i upload the avatar from my computer. Maybe try saving the image to your com first?

Right then, I found out how to get your own piccie as your siggi, how do you do the same for an avatar. You see, I quote them, then copy it onto my written signature and then I've got an image. But when I try to dao the same for an avatar it says this

"Invalid file"

How do you do it

You just copy the link URL of your avatar for option 1

You just browse your computer for the avatar for option 2

I tried the first option "Temporary Upload Failure" and 2nd time "Invalid File Image"

well just upload your avatar to photobucket

then copy the direct link and paste it into option 1

do like what I always do

save the pic as your choice of avater on your desktop & then upload it as your avater on here

I tried to use photobucket & etc but I always get rejected by it but what I said just now , it always works for me

I just upload the file from my computer. Just make sure it's the right format. All the acceptable formats are at the bottom of the page where you upload your avatar.

I actually have a problem with my avatars... my rounded PNG avatars like never work when they're joined... -_-"

Sorry for the trouble, but I'm having a bit of trouble with the avatar thingie~ There are two choices for a personal ava, but I'm having difficulty~ First, sorry, boring speech, but I'm on my school computer, which means that Imageshack is blocked, so all pictures uploaded on pic sharing sites (which is all of them) appear as an [x], so I can't save the picture to the computer and upload it that way, so I tried the URL thing, to upload it from another website, but I don't see what I'm doing wrong~ First, I copied the ava URL from the post, and pasted it into the URL, taking out the [IMG][/IMG] things so it's a real URL, but it said "unable to upload due to temporary file" or something like that :( I can only get on a computer that allows me to save pictures once a week, and I wasn't able to this week, so I was wondering if someone could help me with the URL thing for avatars (^_^) I really want to use my lovely new set from ownsarai :)

ur sch's network might have blocked imaging websites or images in general...not too surprising~

and that's a gorgeous avatar, I hope u get to use it soon when u get home or smth!

^ Awww that stinks :( I don't want to wait XD My "computer" at home is my iPod, and the same thing happens there, too (O_o) Is there another URL I can use?

u'll have to save the avatar image to the desktop or something, and then upload it from there via your user cp, if that's the case that putting in the url doesn't work...
