Do you get irritated when Ayu acts super cute?

Not sure if it's already been heavily discussed in the downloads section with Ayu's new lives...but...

Do any of you get really irritated with the way Ayu sings the last line of the chorus in Days for her live performances?

The way she does it is perfectly fine in the recording...but I get so irritated hearing it live when she tries to do it super cute in the last line with "ite ii desu" and then breaks out into a huge vibrato on "ka"...:dead2

Maybe I'm being too picky, but I compare it to the recording and I like it just fine regularly lol.

SURREAL__RAINBOW 18th December 2008 05:19 AM

thats like my favourite part of the chorus lol

musikb0x 18th December 2008 05:21 AM

lol it makes me laugh

*cute voice* ite ii desu...*loud voice* KAAAAAAAA!

Kogepan_19 18th December 2008 05:22 AM

Lol really? I guess it's truly up to one's taste haha.

yea ^^
I love ayus vibrato A LOT
no many singers use it like that, so that makes her even more special to me.

I think that that little "KAAA" at the end of Days chorus gives a bit of warmth to that song... I dunno if I xplain myself well lol

but I really like it

emi♡ 18th December 2008 05:27 AM

meh.

thats how ayu does everything lol

dreamland2.0 18th December 2008 05:29 AM

hahah I think it's so cute and funny with the loud "ka" at the end... but it's true it doesn't sound like that at all in the recording... I wonder why she does it?? :)

Kogepan_19 18th December 2008 05:30 AM

My emphasis wasn't really on the vibrato but on how she's trying to sing super-cutely. I am okay with the vibrato most of the time...but the overly-cuteness reminds me of how my Japanese friends sometimes say "Ayu is already 30...start acting her age" lol.

paperitahra 18th December 2008 05:32 AM

I actually really like it. She sounds sooooo CUTE when she sings "ite ii desu"- part, but at the same time I wouldn't want her to end the whole song that way. The way, how she ends the song is gonna be what people remember the most from the performance, so I really prefer Ayus vibrato at the end, because that's who she really is and how she really sings. That's what people should remember.
...Did anybody even get wat i'm saying? LOL. :D
I LOVE Ayus vibrato!

LOL well
shes only 30, thats not old old I think

anyway she is already acting like shes 30 most of the time! I really miss the young ayu!! so when she does the cute thing again I really like it xD

it's against the forum rules to post ambiguous thread titles, ie half sentence in your case.

Kogepan_19 18th December 2008 05:41 AM

Oh really? Sorry I don't post much, but I'll change it. Thanks for the reminder.

jierarudo 18th December 2008 05:52 AM

i don't like it when she acts cute either, i was half-cringing throughout the entire "days" PV. it was too overkill!

and then when she starts to act glamorous people lambast her for her "fish" mouth (like in the covers for "Mirrorcle World" and the "Green/Days" ones).

SolarAngel 18th December 2008 05:56 AM

Is this only limited to discussing Days? Personally i think the song is fine. Cuteness that made me majorly cringe would be AT06's Ladies Night. It kind of had no class and there's this "i'm a bimbo, i'm cute, i'm a bimbo..." mantra going on during the whole performance. There's not much point to it.

pommy48 18th December 2008 05:58 AM

hmm i personally don't mind, but it's only when ayu talks that make me cringe a bit

music_* 18th December 2008 06:04 AM

I think she's not really 'acting cute' or anything. It's how it's supposed to be sung to express the emotions/meaning of the song.
And though I don't really like it when she talks in that super act-cute voice of hers (like in AT05 and before), I really like this one! ^^

jimex289 18th December 2008 06:13 AM

Eh...in the end Ayu is Ayu regardless if she's "acting her age" or not. I don't even know what criterion people use to make that kind of judgment. If she wasn't "acting her age" she obviously would not be this far along in her 10 year career. She's still the same person we know and love. Just because she chooses to act in this certain manner does not make her into a "bimbo" as someone so nicely put it.

I'm all for the cuteness; I welcome it. It doesn't make her any less an adult with responsibilities. Does sound a little awkward I guess...

I tried to do it once. Then, I laugh very loud. Then, my parents yelled at me for the noise. Hahahahhaha! Really hillarious! makes me wanna laugh again and again!
hahahahahahhaha :laugh

Kogepan_19 18th December 2008 06:28 AM

Hmm...I actually thought AT06's Ladies Night was actually okay. I didn't like the school uniform performance in CDL 07-08 though (forgot what song it was).

I do think she's a terrific artist, but in terms of likeable-ness as a celebrity I've been noticing that most people do criticize her about being fake, overly-acting, etc.

Of course I know that the people I know's opinions don't represent everyone's, but I'm just putting it out there.

It's mostly the hardcore fans that keep up with what she's doing for example through forums, reading her TA messages etc. but...I don't know where I'm going with this lol.

stickyrice 18th December 2008 06:49 AM

Well... Ayumi did say in her CNN interview that she is childish and that she doesn't want to "become an adult" :laugh

I personally love her cuteness. When I heard her sing in that cute voice for her Days performances, I just couldn't help but smile! It's infectious!
