Question about ayu breaking new record

I'm so curious guys, how many nš1 singles must ayu have to break Seiko Matsuda record? I know Ayu already broke the most consecutive number 1 records for a female artist with born to be/startin' single at 2006, but what's about the other record?
I hope she will break it soon anyway!!

if I'm not mistaken , Seiko has 24 straight #1 hits while for ayumi's case , she has 20 straight #1's

If I'm not wrong , ayumi needs 4 more #1 hit singles in order to tie with Seiko & of course 5 #1's to suppress Seiko

5... then If Rule/Sparkle is her 45th single , ayu's 50th single could brak a record !! OMG that would be just great!!!It will be like a big cellebration!!

wow only 4??? I think she can do it without problem

keikeiaznqueen 10th May 2009 12:43 PM

YEAH I CAN'T WAIT!! Unless a GUILTY happens. :( Where Avex miscalculates Ayu's chances.

jon_the_d 10th May 2009 01:15 PM

yeah but if she only gets it because the chances have been cleverly calculated and the release planned....it seems to be a bit of a fraud. I think she'll get it, I just think it would mean more if she fought off tough competition to do so.

^ I agree. I think it's really possible, she most likely will get it without Avex's planning but the songs have to be top-notch. Something like BLUE BIRD and Days/GREEN...not a glitter/fated.

Theoretically, as long as her singles end up amongst the top 50 sellers by the end of the oricon year, thye will have "fought off" competition, whether you characterize it as "tough" or not, as there are 52 weeks in a year.

hope she'll crush Seiko with a Smash Hit~ sorry if i offended Seiko's fans

Wow, only four more? I thought it was less than that x_x;. She can break it easily though.

I thought she'd already broken Seiko's record?

umm I think in terms of the most no. of #1 hits singles for a female jpop solo artiste , yes

in terms of straight #1's , not yet

I'm sure she could achieve this goal..maybe with a great summer single and some touchy ballad (her last ones like Curtain Call or Days were not her best ever)
