[Cradle of Filth] ~The first Nymphetamine thread~

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76...7/Picture1.png

My little story ^.^
Spoiler:

I started listening to them in 2004 but I stopped when I wanted to get rid of my rocker ways but
I decided to go back how I was so the first band I started listening all over again was Cradle of Filth

The reason I named the thread "Nymphetamine" because that is their first Album that I listened to and is my favorite

You probably wondering what "Nymphetamine" means well according to the lead singer Dani Filth its
a blend of "nymphomaniac" (Sexual addiction) and "amphetamine" (deep dependence upon it)

ENOUGH CHIT CHAT

Short Biography from Wikipedia
Spoiler:
Quote:

Cradle of Filth are an extreme metal band from Suffolk, England, formed in 1991.
They have been embraced and disowned with equal fervour by various metal communities, and
their particular subgenre has provoked a great deal of discussion.

The band's musical style evolved from black metal to a cleaner and
more "produced" amalgam of gothic metal, symphonic black metal and other extreme metal styles,
while their lyrical themes and imagery are heavily influenced by gothic literature, poetry, mythology and horror films.
The band has successfully broken free from its original niche by courting mainstream publicity
(often to the chagrin of its early fanbase), and this increased accessibility has brought coverage by the likes of Kerrang! and
MTV, frequent main stage appearances at major festivals such as Ozzfest,
Download and even the mainstream Sziget Festival, and in turn a more "commercial" image.
They have sometimes been perceived as Satanic by casual observers, although their outright lyrical references to
Satanism are few and far between, and use of Satanic imagery has arguably always had more to do with the shock value than any seriously-held beliefs.
According to Metal Hammer magazine, they are the most successful British metal band since Iron Maiden.

I like the song Nymphetamine but because Liv Kristine sings in it.

I like some of thier older songs too. Newer stuff not really.

zyoeru 10th July 2009 04:51 AM

I like CoF! But I'm not too fond of their earlier work, a little ****. I'm never fond of music that sounds like no effort has been put into it...so I'm glad most of their discography is "refined". I, like everyone else, LOVE Nymphetamine...but feel that Sarah ruined it on her version...I don't like her. XD

JackieRos 10th July 2009 06:15 PM

:laugh yeah

i really dont like her being in the band

nemesisyume 10th July 2009 07:16 PM
