Yeah, she said that once during an Japanese interview... although I wouldn't be surprised if she just said it to appeal more the japanese audiences...

Well... she is a musician, so... it wouldn't be that strage for her to know some artists on every country she visit^^ I wouldn't say die-hard fan, but knowing a couple songs of each one, that's possible^^

i dont know about ayu but i know lady gaga and koda kumi did a photoshoot together and than koda kumi and fergie are friend.

strangely i never seen some ayu photoshoot with other hollywood artist together .

the beyonce statement is very interesting.. in her I Am...Sasha Fierce album, theres japanese manga-ish sketch inside ^.^

Aah, yeah, I remember that. I think it was more along the lines of the interviewer asking her, "Have you ever heard of Ayumi Hamasaki and Koda Kumi?" and Beyonce said, "Yes, I've heard of them, and I do like Koda Kumi more".

I'm not sure of any other artists (or people in Hollywood) who have publicly stated they they've liked Ayu. Other artists who love Japan, like Britney Spears and Gwen Stefani, have probably heard of her as well.
