Continuing on from the last thread; I don't really mind her trashy image, cos I know behind that is a sweet, powerful woman with an amazing voice! Unlike other trashy artists, who I won't name and shame. :P

Never noticed that the last thread was at 502 posts XD But thanks for the new thread :D We were discussing how Kuu is trashy and skanky. And how most people are split on it being sexy or umm, rude? XD

Lol I think it was more, where do we draw the line between sexy and trashy. Then people gave examples. :yes
But we can discuss that too, yeah! I haven't spoke about Kuu properly for a really long time.

So yeah, I think another good example of classy-sexy is the Cherry Girl video. Some might not agree, but that leather catsuit is so hot! I also think the powerful, badass image she gives off makes it even sexier. :yes

No, I agree. Kumi wasn't trashy in Cherry Girl. The only time she was very exposed was in the denim skirt outfit (which was really revealing and all, but she looked clean-****ty, if anything, not dirty XP), and the whole video wasn't about sex like some of the others.

HOLY CRAP. I just re-watched Cherry Girl right now, and my gawd.... The scene where she's acting as a bartender... HOLY FREAKIN' PADDED BRA!!! :thud Her boobs in that scene look so freakin' huge compared to the others, lol.

i used to LOVE koda's sexual image. but i was a teen and i was going through my ~skank~ period. now i don't like it really. it's fun to laugh at sometimes though, because she's so over the top that it's funny

now i kind of wish she would tone it down and be more mature. it would even be cool if she took her music seriously enough to start composing or something! that would be a nice change. as long as she doesn't compose a bunch of "Lick me" songs or something lol

after you guys noticed there is a thing between her legs in CD+DVD cover, it is still bugging me everytime when I see it.

it's really hard for me to think like "wow what a demented ****" because if you watch her in the making of the trashfest that is JUICY you just see a funny girl having a good time. in the scene where she spreads the guy's legs and gets down to simulate fellatio she couldn't stop laughing and it was just really funny to see. she's always the same KUMI no matter what she's doing.

but she is turning 27 and if she continues to act like she did when she was in her early 20s people (especially the Japanese since they are so age sensitive) will complain about her image even more than they already have. there's ways to be sexy without being over the top!

Exactly. You guys said it just right: she can be sexy, but she needs to tone it down; she can still be sexy without ever crossing over into skank territory.

She hasn't really been skanky for like 2 years, so I think she's pretty tame now.

Not really skanky - as in, overly sexual and kinda borderline gross - but Physical Thing's PV was kinda trashy. But other than that and a few things from Kingdom era, I don't think she's been bad at all since Black Cherry. Which is definitely tame for Kumi, yeah, considering back in the day, every single PV and performance had to be SEXSEXSEX, lol. >.> And Black Cherry was, what, 2006? So yeah, I like the image, for the most part, the past few years. Not at all gross, and still very sexy. :yes

I thought the Ecstasy PV was sexy but not too out there, like a sophisticated sexy unlike a horny PV like Juicy.

I used to not like her so much because I assumed she was a sell out for using that sort of overtly sexual image, but after seeing interviews and stuff I kind of understand where she was coming from and now I respect her.

I agree.. I love all of her images (trashy/nasty/dirty/sexy/hot/cute/whatever) only because she fits these styles very well..
and that is one of the reasons she is my favorite artist all the time! :yes

I agree with cutie. No matter what she does, I feel like the real her always comes out somehow, and she's the same to me, in character or not, on and off camera.

But I feel like that...kind of about most of the artists I listen to, if I know who they are for the most part. Ayu, Namie, Utada, etc.

You can like this over the top "i crap the sex in your face" or not!
BUT i think when Kumi does it, it looks mostly more professional than some other artist (thinking about Shakira's pregnant dances on the roof in She-Male ( i mean you can be sexy, BUT don't put silly moves in a sexy video!) or Ciara's Cellulite-Shaking in Love Sex Tragic feat. Justin Timberlake! What was that!? It's even more horrible when you have a Full HD-TV!)!

And i think as an artist you're not always singing about things your feeling!
Somtimes they're telling stories with songs and PV's!
So this doen't mean when Kuu make a booty shaking PV she is a ****ty girl who makes "Love me long time" with 2 guys and a girl in an elevator!
The PV should fit the song!
For example: Physical thing
It's not one of her best PV's, but i think the "ALCOHOLIC PARTY CHICK" Theme fits the song!
So it's ok for me!
And you cannot have a sexy song like JUICY and making a PV like Lick me ❤!
Did you guys remember how JUICY would look in a McDo Commercial!?

Like Tsubasa said, Kuu fits in many images from sexy to classy to cute to whatever avex have in mind!
And that is what i love about Kuu!
All these sides and styles of her is for me more worth, ok you can't like every style she does/try, BUT she has a good mix!
And i agreed to cutie!
She has a great and cheerful personality!
And even in sexful situations in JUICY she laugh about it!
Cause she didn't take it that serious!
It's just a sexy song and she did a sexy PV for it! Nothing more!
And when i don't like a song/PV i just skip it!
