If you'd read on I pointed out A BEST 2 is being released with near no competition. Also, I know no one's going to hear any bad, but Kuu's new BEST is really just a themed compilation album in the same way as Ayu's 'A Ballad's', and A BEST 2 is practically 2 albums. Instead of making one double album avex is really all about the money with A BEST 2. Not to mention all the remix albums which is a strategy Kumi hasn't employed.

Their not going to put money into an artist unless they expect to get it back. Kumi did have 4 albums before all the huge promotion started, slowly earning avex enough money to give her a bigger budget for tour's and PV's etc.
And like you said, in Namie's and TRF's era they generated a large amount for avex but no one is saying they are avex.
