Are you maybe talking about Masafumi Akikawa? His single Sen no Kaze ni Natte is at no. 1 today on Oricon... I just discovered that single was released like 9 months ago (05/25... 2006!) and I swear I saw it topping the weekly/monthly chart not so long ago... 0____o
