Not to be culturally biased or anything, but I think while some of the motifs in the PV might seem random, they make sense if you look at it in an "asian" way.
For example, yes, Cherry Blossom tree is cheesy, but in Japan it does symbolize
life. As for the red lipstick, well, if you look at the way Geishas dress and stuff, their lips are also bright red. So
I don't think it's that odd, with the red. But then again, it was just chinese new year, so the redness still hadn't passed yet.
The other costumes reminds me more of thai/cambodia actually.
