[J-Rock]
Suga Shikao, probably you know about him from Death Note & xxxHOLIC. His song "
Manatsu no Yoru no Yume" was the tie-in for the movie Death Note and also "
19sai" was the tie-in for the anime xxxHOLIC. I recommend the later one if you like more upbeat rock, because the Death Note song is a rock ballad. I also recommend "
Gogo no Parade", a summer mid-tempo dance song.
[J-Rock]
Hayashi Naojiro, previously from a duo brothers group "Hirakawachi Icchoume" and he just released his first solo single recently, "
hikari", which is also a tie-in for the movie "Lemon no Koro". Totally recommended.
[J-R&B] Ryohei Yamamoto, is known for his collaborations with m-flo. Sings in R&B, whether it's dance or ballad, he can tackle it easily. He also frequently covered classic ballads like All By Myself, After The Love Has Gone, etc. I recommend
The Light (totally recommended),
one love feat. VERBAL,
Relisten feat. LISA, Anata no Te, and World, which is released in his latest album, "Relisten" and also his collab with m-flo & melody.,
miss you.
[J-Soul/Jazz]
Shiina Junpei, the brother of the famous J-JazzRock singer Shiina Ringo. His genre covers soul and jazz music. His self-titled album is totally what you shouldn't miss. He also covered "Where is the Love?" with his sister Ringo (not the BEP ones D
[J-Soul/Jazz]
Toshinori Yonekura, a classic male singer whom Kumi Koda idolizes. Recently released an album "Fall Back", an album filled with soul tracks with lead single "
Whatsoever". If you prefer his jazz works, get the concept album "Cool Jamz" or "I". He also collab with Rufus Blaq in a super sexy upbeat song, "
do something real".
[J-Pop]
Moriyama Naotaro, people love his unique voice. Totally underrated. You should try him out.
Koishikute is my fave song from him <3
Sakura,
Kimi wa Gobanme no Kisetsu, and
Kaze ni Natte is also worth-listening.
[J-Pop]
SHOWTA., if your type of a musician is a bishounen singing heartwarming love songs, then you should try this singer out. Currently has only released 3 singles, mostly are sweet ballads. One of his b-side is an upbeat song, "Reality", which is totally awesome. For ballads, you should try the A-sides
Negaiboshi,
Trans-winter ~Fuyu no Mukougawa~,
Hitoshizuku.
His B-side (somehow available on YT XD)
Hotaru &
Yuki no Oto. Can't find the one for Reality though, but you can catch its preview on his website.
[J-Rock]
Kiyokiba Shunsuke, the ex-vocalist of EXILE, who is now pursuing his career in rock music. His latest single "
Tengoku wa Mattekureru"
[J-Pop]
WaT (Wentz Eiji & Teppei Koike), the duo who needs no introduction. Especially you're a girl, you would probably fall for these guys' cuteness and adorable smiles. Haven't heard much of them myself, but
Bokura no Love Story is a must-try. Currently, they are pursuing solo career (with the other one backing up with B-side). Soft ballad "
Kimi ni Okuru Uta" (Teppei's) and emotional rock number "
Awaking Emotion 8/5" (Wentz's) are songs that you should not miss.
