I think that ayu doesn't care the drops in sales from past years is pretty proving the nothing she does is for the money. If she wanted she could easily get it high, but she is just natural with her work and do what she feels like, as she need.
She wouldn't invest a lot of money on PVs and stuff specailly for her fans to enjoy if she would do it for the money.

who says you that it's avex squeezing the last bit of money out of kuu-chan. I have to admit, I had the same thought about ayu and kuu-chan but now I think it's not avex pushing kuu-chan, it's vice versa.
