I feel so ***** saying this, because I never give a rat's behind about celebrity gossip, and I hate when people talk about celebrities as if they know them. But I am actually concerned about her. I actually feel kind of hurt for her. Ending a 7 year romantic relationship the terms that Ayu seems to describe, in my immediate impression, only means one thing: two people love eachother, but circumstances won't allow them to live out their love the way their hearts want. It's like finding the love of your life, but at the completely wrong time. Letting that go is more hard than most know.
A plausible speculation might be that Ayu isn't ready to grow up and settle down (as we've heard her describe her personality and way of life in past interviews and lyrics), and maybe he was tired of waiting for her. By keeping their relationship on such close-knit terms, they are keeping the doors open for tomorrow.

Well yeah, but like someone else said, she almost sounds annoyed that so many people are so worried about her... I would be kinda annoyed if people were worried about me when there was no reason to be worried because I was okay.
I agree with your speculation though on why the relationship ended. I specifically call to mind her CNN interview where she stated that she never wanted to grow up and gain tons of responsibilities of adulthood.
