About this whole Johnny's no-dating rule: they ARE allowed to date, but the media can't publish pics of them togheter, or at least, not pictures that make obvious they are together (for example, they getting out of the girlfriend's house in the morning, purikura of them together, etc). In some cases they were forced to broke-up, like Kamenashi Kazuya and Kyoko Koizumi and Akanishi Jin and the SPEED girl, but if they are already popular enough, JE can't do nothing about it: like YamaPi and Abiru Yuu, JE probably isn't happy with their relationship (since she has quite a bad rep and all), but they can't do much about it.
But if the guy is older and is dating an estabilished artist, they don't need to hide their relationship: like Nagase and Ayu and the other TOKIO guy and aiko. And the SMAP guys can date whoever they want and KimuTaku even has two daughters.

Ayu doesn't need to give details of her broke-up, actually, if this is true it would be quite stupid of her part to confirm in her website, it would affect her popularity and AVEX would be quite pissed. It would be quite weird (and rude to Nagase) if Ayu published "yesterday, I moved out of my house because my bf is too obsessed with me". Plus, artists have to deny the bad rumors even if they're true.
Nagase will star in a drama next season, btw, if anyone's interested.
