The lyrics suggest a certain sense of maturity to me. It's almost like the mature side of her is talking down to herself; asking why she's so afraid, etc. The chorus also shows quite a wise side: she knows how the world operates, and tells herself that if she's unhappy, it's because she brought it upon herself.

....doesn't seem like someone immature would understand that about the world. This song definitely does represent a mental state, but if you ask me, the one doing the forceful talking--the side of Ayu, that is--is much more conscious of the how the world works. This song is a big, "Grow up" message to me at least.
