Memorial address
but you may be talking about a different kind of "leaving."

but yeah research not necessarily dumped but like beautiful fighters talking about being left

it semms to me that Hanabi ~episode II~ is more about her not being able or having the power to stop someone from leaving

actually, that is an interesting question. i'd have to find out about it...
i know memorial address was about her grandmother leaving her
and i think a song for avex was about her mother/father (not sure if it was both)

oh psh, please. Memorial address was SO not about her grandma. In the song she says "A first day of summer" was the day whomever died. Ayu said herself that her grandma died just before the release of poker face. that is NOWHERE near the first day of summer.
Plus, it semmed her and her grandma where really close. why would she say "I wish i could ahve heard from you, that I had certainly been loved by you, only once, even if it had been a lie". If she was as close to her grandma as everything seems to portray, i;d imagine her grandma would have said "i love you" once in all those years they were together.
other than all that, her dad "dissapeared" on unknown terms. I know this is a longshot, but this is the only possible explanation to me.
Now, since Ayumi's dad left while she was young, she wouldnt receive a phonecalll personally about him. So, maybe before Ayumi wrote the song (in late 2002-early 2003) Ayumi's dad actually died. Maybe her mom, or the police or whoever called to tell her.
And since she dosent remember him really, she wouldnt ever remember him saying "I love you", now would she? And of course she is going to feel a numbing sorrow because of the death of her father.
anyway its all theory. so is the idea of her grandma. but to me - it just dosent make any sense.
