I dun think ayu can create a super new stuff unless it's sure that that innovative song will maintain her no. 1 streak. Just look at BnD. I guess everyone agrees that it's something really new from ayu... But look at its sales and how it affected (miss)understood's sales.. I guess it's a gift that BnD could maintain weekly no. 1 even tho it only had one daily no. 1... so fortunate..
I kind of admire the fact that Hikki is more about music and less about ranking #1. She seems to have more freedom in releasing whatever she likes. It's just a rank in the end though Ayu has more pressure to maintain that streak she has now so she tries to retain a certain formula.

She was lucky with BnD, she seriously had the chance to lose #1 and t2m sounds like a bit too experimental for Japan once again. It's a shame though because both singles were fairly good. I suppose going more rock than pop-rock (like she did with INSPIRE/STEP you) is not gonna help. I still think it's a shame though that Japan cannot seem to widely accept experimental music because it limits creative freedom and forces artists to sound like the same old thing, over and over... If they care about sales, that is.
