I dun think ayu can create a super new stuff unless it's sure that that innovative song will maintain her no. 1 streak. Just look at BnD. I guess everyone agrees that it's something really new from ayu... But look at its sales and how it affected (miss)understood's sales.. I guess it's a gift that BnD could maintain weekly no. 1 even tho it only had one daily no. 1... so fortunate..

I kind of admire the fact that Hikki is more about music and less about ranking #1. She seems to have more freedom in releasing whatever she likes. It's just a rank in the end though Ayu has more pressure to maintain that streak she has now so she tries to retain a certain formula.
She was lucky with BnD, she seriously had the chance to lose #1 and t2m sounds like a bit too experimental for Japan once again. It's a shame though because both singles were fairly good. I suppose going more rock than pop-rock (like she did with INSPIRE/STEP you) is not gonna help. I still think it's a shame though that Japan cannot seem to widely accept experimental music because it limits creative freedom and forces artists to sound like the same old thing, over and over...
