You've got it backwards. The rumors start from Japanese tabloids but are spread faster through Chinese tabloids because there are simply more Chinese readers who go online and post the scans/rumors. Japanese people tend to stick to BBS boards to discuss rumors. Plus, there are a LOT more Chinese readers/speakers at AHS than Japanese.
Note how basically every Chinese tabloid cites a Japanese one as a source.
