Portrayal of someone is how you intentionally choose to make them seem. It doesn't have to be done with lies. Just like toward the beginning of Britney's carrer she was portrayed by herself and her management as a "sexy-but-virginal girl next door". You're portraying her as a bad person. Her dog went on the dress; fine, but it was an accident. She still has to take responsibilty for it, yes, but she didn't mean for it to happen and it was a accident.
