I know what you mean...

I too prefer to keep it under the hood, and only let my closest friends know about my favorite artist being ayu, and the general interest in japanese music. It's just easier, you get out of a lot of explanation.

Yes, to people who don't understand, All Asian is Japanese...
well, in language, you can defenitly tell the difference between Chinese and Japanese.
Also, only my closest friends know I listen to Ayu. And with one friend (xLuna&1LOVE) I can talk openly cuz she also like Ayu and Namie Amuro...

Not everybody can appreciate art. They just care for boobs being shaked around to 50 Cent and friends.

The jerks... if they like boobs and sexyness, maybe you should show them Koda Kumi's PVs: JUICY and SHAKE IT

Yes, You're right... I should've said no ("Yeah, I say no, no, no"). But then again, can you imagine I was kinda afraid of saying no?

so it's basically just a secret for me. the only people who know that i listen to jpop is my brother (he cannot stand it), my mother, father (dosen't care, but in mcdonalds he just blurts out to me "so you listen to japanese music?" in front of everyone), and that's it. i don't want anyone knowing, because they wouldn't understand.

Yes, also my mother and father know and -like I said before- my closest friends... My dad says he hates Ayu but I dunno if he means that (I don't think so).

Because, for the most part, I go to a class where the guys label anything not death metal as gay, I choose not to willingly put myself [for the second time] through the mental torture has, fortunately, now stopped.
Yeah, basically, if I were to go to a more open-minded class, I think my MP3 player would be used more.

Indeed
Most people think: Oh! Asian = Chinese and they all like those western artists (no offense)... but they all make the same music

and they all dance the same
It appears we all have the same problem... (and all those girls from my class like High School Music and Zac Efron ... I hate both)
