I thought the song was more directed at a lover than just "people", so she's pissed off with him and really upset and wants him to leave her alone cos she's so mad/upset, but she loves him so much she doesn;t actually want him to leave her. conflicted feelings as happens in long relationships with serious arguments. you can;t bear to see them, but you can;t bear to be without them....so sad.
on the other hand, some ppl have suggested some things that make sense regarding general "people", and wanting them to leave her alone, but not wanting to be left alone completely...have to try to decide which one she's aiming for...maybe both?
