You're just missing the に ni in your second example, Draggi.

All together it should read:

美しいものはときに悲しいもの

You can also substitute the Kanji 物 for もの, as well as 時 for とき. Because these are two extremely common words, the average contemporary person would most likely write it as above (in Hiragana).
