Breaking in US is extremely difficult and time and money consuming, especially if you don't sing in english and don't live in there (completely different issue if you take a part in talentshows like idols and get instant publicity etc.). In Europe it's different cuz there isn't such language-barrior as in US; I live in finland and speak finnish but I listen to french, japanese, english, swedish, italian and sometimes germanese music. In Europe I think ppl are more used to different languages and it would be more likely for Ayumi to become famous in Europe than in US. But this is just my humble opinion.
