"Nostalgic" basically means a feeling you get for some event/place/person from your past. Like, if you listened to a certain song during the summer a lot, and you had a summer fling with a guy but then didn't ever see him again, and you heard that song later on in the year and it made you think all about the fun and memories you had from that summer.... get it? It's a feeling of memories coming back to you where you think about or long for what you're thinking about.
