^ i'd say that's a correct assumption.
JE singles do better because they're promoted better. singles are the ones with the tie-in, it's affordable, & have lots of collector items. the only people that buy the album are the core fanbase, really.
i wouldn't be surprised if K-T's new album sold less then the singles that are in the album. (like 300k 1st week, instead of 350k that LIPS or Keep the faith got its first week)
