Disturbia debuted this week at 18 on the Hot 100, her highest debut thus far! Hopefully radio will embrace the single (which is pretty much inevitable), because I fear digital sales might stall pretty quickly otherwise. Like I said though, I'm extremely confident Rihanna has another sure-fire hit on her hands.
I actually decided to pick up the rerelease simply because I adored GGGB so very much. Admittedly, the rerelease is pretty pointless and makes what was originally a perfectly paced pop album feel unnecessarily bloated, but Disturbia and the packaging alone make up for it. The new turqouise/red colour scheme on the cover looks awful in pictures, but in actuallity it's very shiny and metallic and classy and beautiful.
Take A Bow is still mind-numbingly uninspired though. It's most definitly a decent song and a smart single choice given how Americans seem to jump on any sassy female breakup anthem/Irreplaceable clone, but it hardly fits the tone of the album.
After Disturbia, I really hope Breakin' Dishes finally sees a release. Sure, she's been milking this thing long enough, but I really think its the only other song she'll ever have that has the potential to come even somewhat close to the massive success of Umbrella.
