She lost her boyfriend of years, she lost a dear friend, she's getting older, ten years is a long time to be in the music industry, and she's no Hikki, she's no Namie, she's slowly becoming disabled. That makes a lot of difference than singers who've been around a long time and are still moving.
The way I see it, she's easing us into the end, I'm taking A COMPLETE as a sign towards that direction.

I'm sorry but I have to lol.
You exaggerated it the whole way XD.
She's not the only one who's losing popularity and ironically last year she was the most proffiting (or 2nd) japanese artist.
There are jmusic divas that sell 3000 for a release and still keep releasing a lot (like seiko matsuda).
She won't lose her hearing on the other ear mainly because she doesn't have a disorder there (unlike the deaf ear that had it).
She is just turning 30 not 60, give the woman a slack, (not comparing but Madonna is 50 and still moving). Namie is also some years older than ayu.
Everyone loses a lot of things, so what? she just takes it as inspiration for songs (untitled ~for her~ etc.) hikki divorced last year.
For the releasing of this album, well she's on avex, it's really not surprising they release it and on her 10th anniversary.
That's exactly how things are =P you made it sound like she's 90 and going to die.
