Rihanna is an amazing single artist and that has proven good for her. Why must you mess with something that is working? So what If Rihanna can't sell albums all that great, not many artists can anymore. It's even more rare for an artist to have multiple top 10s in the US in this day and time. So they have to give her that credit.
I do feel bad that she is broke.
I don't know how to word this, I'm not sure if i would call her talented, but I will say she does have something that attracts listeners. Her songs are always new and different. Not always the same "US" sound that comes from most artists. Her voice is unique and is VERY well known it seems. You flip on the radio and hear a "Rihanna" song you instantly know who she is. So hey if Singles are doing it for her, let her be a singles artist... Rihanna is cool.
