The feeling this song gives me is really bittersweet. She says "This summer we'll shine brightly...", but she also muses about growing up and being sad and stuff like that. I think the message of this song is to keep going despite how times are changing and despite what bad things may come your way. All that could be a show of courage, though, which is why I think fated is a good song to go with this one. glitter sort of represents childhood naivety about the world, while fated represents the realities of the world and how sad they can really be.
