I think it's conveying that someone (あの人?) is on the verge of showing weakness / starting to cry. In other words, the opposite of the above translation... しまう isn't "an end to" but rather like regret that an action occurs as per my understanding.

thanks for pointing this out. i made a mistake. i was going by the definition of
仕舞う しまう to finish; to close; to do something completely; to put away; to put an end to
あの人の笑顔がもう
眩しくて優しすぎて
弱さ見せてしまいそうで
泣き出してしまいそうで
should be more like
That smiling face
Is too kind and dazzling
That I show weakness
And burst into tears
