Plus in the very beginning before the "GREEN" and chinese&japanese "ayumi hamasaki" text appears there's the sound of walking with high heels, same when Ayumi walks off in the ending. At that part it shows some grey buildings like in the ending before "getting out" from that area into the sepia coloured central village.. xD I wonder if I make any sense.

Actually, watching the video all over again, this is definitely about issues of sexuality. When Ayu is dancing on stage with her dancers, her performances are controlled, polished, spectacular, and artificial. She is also at her most feminine during these performances. However, when she begins to daydream while in the dressing area, her tango with Midoring is stilted, awkward, flawed, and human. Her movements here are probably at their most honest.
So, yes, it is a video with a gay message! It all makes sense now
