Just watched Beyonce perform on the Christmas Rockefeller Program and it was the first time she actually sounded like a REAL singer to me. I know she can sing, but the songs she chooses to sing are more about the melody than her voice and she always adds her harsh attitude to it.

Tonight she sang "Ave Maria" (My first time hearing it), which isn't completely hers, and there was no Signature Beyonce sounds in it. It was straight out singing and even though it's not my kind of song, because she was "Singing", I liked it. At a couple points she sounded like an Opera Singer and at others she was hitting these high notes she doesn't usually go for. There was minimal attitudinal yelling and fierceness.

And even though she still had that high back hair, she looked nice. Funny thing though. The camera panned from the left as the music started playing so we didn't see Beyonce. And the camera was just far away where you couldn't see faces clearly. So the first person who came into view was this black women sitting in a chair with this Frizzy kind of Afro Hair Style and I thought it was Beyonce and nearly choked on my applesauce (Not eating applesauce. That's how "Like Whoa" it was). But of course it wasn't Beyonce. But I couldn't believe it at first and rightfully so.
