More precisely:
Maki has written some lyrics but now is in the "music (melody) searching phase". She must be getting demo CDs from famous composers and picking the songs she likes best as other Avex artists do, which is something she couldn't do as a H!P soloist because of the Morning Musume/idol stigma.
She also mentions how she had to choose between school and work/show business (she graduated from junior high school while preparing her solo debut in 2001)
