For me looks don't matter. They just need to sound good
But looks may catch my attention. For example, I used to avoid Johnny's boys like the plague but one then I saw Yamapi in Kurosaki and was like "DAMN!!" so I decided to check his music out then our started liking NEWS and a few other Johnny's bands.
So basically for singers looks don't matter to me but they might get me interested
