i think J-rock has certainly lost its appeal, especially in this point in time in J-music. i think it's just not their "time" now, especially with the rise in boybands/groups (not only JE, but EXILE, DBSK, etc.). they were bigger in the 90s / early 00s.

but i think people mix up J-rock with that of Visual Kei. i don't think they are the same, but VK is a specific section of J-rock.

Mr.Children's been doing great, even after all these years. they're very consistent! but yeah, L'Arc~en~Ciel, B'z, GLAY, etc. have passed their peak, so it seems~
