it's not that I think she should stop writing her own lyrics, but anyone thinking that she can still genuinely express her emotions as elaborate and honest as she maybe once did is definitely lying to themselves.
I tend to agree with that. The lyrics for Next Level are not bad or anything like that, they are still better than most other artists, but I have gotten the feeling over the last year or two that she is simply releasing songs just for the sake of releasing songs. And when that is the case, I always think its best that that person take a break for a while instead of continuing to cash in with stuff that they probably know is comparatively weak by their own standards. (this is also referring to the album as a whole, not just the lyrics part.)
