I totally disagree (and I've been a fan since around Distance). I think DR is tied with First Love for her worst overall album. The strange thing is that I consider it to be her greatest singles era... "SAKURA Drops", "Hikari", "traveling", "Letters" and "FINAL DISTANCE" are some of her best singles
ever. But it's the album tracks that really lack anything special, IMO. "Tokyo Nights" is irritating, "Play Ball", "ASAP", and "Shiawase ni Narou" are all boring/sound too similar, and I can't even make a comment on "Usomitai na I LOVE YOU." What a mess of a CD. Honestly, it's easier for me to just listen to the Singles Collection if I wanna hear the listenable part of DEEP RIVER.
For me, ULTRA BLUE is muchhhhh better. Distance too. HEART STATION is a zillion times better as well. I will, unfortunately, never understand the love for DEEP RIVER that such a huge percentage of her fanbase has.
