"C64"? I thought it was Tempest. (I know it's wiki but there's a lot of info about it).

At any rate, I think it would be too risky for a western musician to rip off a mainstream Japanese one. The Japanese music industry is a bit too big. I can see it happening with a smaller, less-known music industry though, both the ripping-off and the being-ripped off...easier to get away with it.
