However, that brings up another issue I was wondering about - who currently has the rights to her old songs? H!P/UFA/PICCOLO or avex? If its UFA, will they sell it to avex? I really can't decide what would be better... it would be a crime to never hear Maki perform her classics again, but at the same time I looove when younger H!P girls tackle Maki songs in Wonderful Hearts/Fanclub/whatever concerts.
I just hope the songs end up on one side or the other and don't end up in limbo, forgotten forever ... @__@;

Oh wow, I forgot about that! I really hope that Avex makes some arrangement with PICCOLO (or whoever has the rights) so that Maki can at least perform some of her older songs for her first few concerts.
It'd be such a shame if she had to totally drop all her old songs because of her new contract.
I'd love to see her perform some songs from
Paint It Gold (my favourite album so far) alongside her new stuff.

I think H!P will probably will release something new from her eventually, it would be really stupid of them not to. They are waiting for her to make an official debut until they release something though, just like with Namie Amuro and Ami Suzuki.
They have so many songs not included on any albums or compilation albums which include all her bsides, Sans Toi m'amie, Ima ni Kitto...In My Life, her HTUS singles, a ton of unreleased songs etc. I would hope they include studio versions of songs sang at concerts plus other unreleased stuff 
H!P still has the rights to her songs. I remember seeing a setlist for the recent C-ute concert I think and one of the members sang Glass no Pumps as a solo. Also at a recent H!P eggs concert they sang Tokutōseki (bside for Te wo Nigitte Arukitai) Even though Maki quit H!P she is still on pretty good terms with Tsunku and H!P, she sent him flowers for a concert he had in December. Maki might sing her old songs at upcoming concerts but it would be very rare. A good example would be Namie Amuro, she rarely sings songs from her old record label (the songs on DANCE TRACKS VOL.1 + ORIGINAL TRACKS VOL.1) but she will do it occasionally at concerts...usually during the encore. |
I really hope they do release something for her.
Ideally I'd prefer something comprehensive that includes the things you mentioned (maybe even with a concert DVD
) but even if it's just a complete collection of her solo singles, as long as it included a DVD with the PVs, I'd still buy it.
