It's known that she's a very reserved and shy person, that's why she doesn't do the MCs in her campus concerts for example.
Reserved persons can seem cold at first (I know that since I'm one myself).
I saw some of her concerts, and it's easy to see at some points that she's not really at ease with the audience...

Anyway about just the waving, I wouldn't have been shocked but just disappointed a little bit, since every person has its bad days as fantasma3c said.
