I was waiting to fibnd a thread like this (sorta...). I apologize in advance for pouring my complaints on you...

OMG! NO! I live in the US, so absolutely not! The onlly place that it was easy to get J-pop from was iTunes. But then iTunes deleted EVERYTHING on avex. I hate iTunes now.

[edit] They got it back. ok. I'm all sunshine and smiles again. (though, omly about iTunes, mind you...)

Other than iTunes, Its impossible to get anything domestically. Not a single Music store has J-pop. When you ask the staff questions like "Do you have Ayumi Hamasaki?" they're like "...... I can look it up for you, if you'd like". So basically, they have no idea what I just said. The only way to get CDs and the like is by buying online from YesAsia, eBay, and those kinds of sites. So you end up rediculously overpaying for things. ($30 for a J-pop album from YA as opposed to $15 to buy a domestic product from a store)

The internet is the only time you'll ever even hear something pertinent to J-pop. Its virtually unkown, at least to the general public.
