Like others have said, considering factors like it's her debut and the lack of promotion, Meisa's sales are pretty darn good. I think the fact that she even debuted in the top 10 is quite an achievement - especially in Japan, which, I understand, is the 2nd largest music market in the world.
Also, I don't think Sony would've bothered putting out a follow-up single so soon if they considered the album a failure. It doesn't make sense to invest more money into an artist that you don't have confidence in.
And I also think it's pretty neat that the limited edition of
hellcat is sold out at
YesAsia,
CDJapan,
Tower Records JP, and
Amazon.co.jp (
HMV Japan still has it available though
). Doesn't sound like a flop to me at all.
And yay for Meisa's second thread!
...here's hoping she's around to stay.
