It's quite normal. In Japan, various brand made other items too. I bet you know CASIO have watches, calculators, cameras, but not much people know they made MOBILE PHONE in Japan too.

ha ha, i'm perfectly fine with both.
I grew up learning simplified chinese in school.
Then when i'm around 11 years old, and start buying Jimmy Lin and Coco Lee's cds, the booklet is in traditional chinese, so i start learning by myself.
Slowly, along with watching those chinese dramas, as they carry traditional chinese. Not to forget my manags, since i don't really like the local publisher, Chuangyi's paper quality, i end up getting the taiwan version, which of coz are in traditional chinese, until now i still prefer TW version(i just bought 4 manga today!).
THerefore, i'm able to read both without much problem
