I actually have the same condition as ayumi ie. tinnitus
somemore hearing problems run in my family . My paternal grandpa & my dad are both deaf & so's my dad's older 2 brothers
my dad's oldest brother went for surgery to correct his hearing problem & my grandpa have to rely the usage of a hearing aid to hear better & my dad being a real stubborn bull , refused to wear it
from as long as I can remember , I communicate with my dad via SHOUTING & that goes for the rest of my family too
My hearing problems started when I was 13 . It got worsen as time goes by because I would keep on hearing sounds regardless whether I cover or don't cover my ears & initally I thought I was going crazy til I went to seek professional help
I got used to it now I suppose & my follow up ear appointment's coming up soon
when I listen to music using my earphones & etc , I try to lower the volume because it might already worsen my hearing for all I care
