Namie, on the other hand, had 60s70s80s which was very popular and was enough to make people who were previously uninterested interested again.
Although njanjayrp is right that Namie was suddenly very popular again more recently, I do think that RockyRaven has a good point about how people bought Best Fiction because they didn't buy her previous two albums (because that was before 60s70s80s and people probably weren't as aware.) It makes sense that people would buy Best Fiction to make up for that.
Not everyone that works hard and "deserves" good sales gets it. With great packaging and marketing as well as a kickass tie-in, a lot of songs can be hits.

you are very right, and I agree with everything you said.
I could say that I think one of my favourite artists works very hard and makes amazing music, however they may not sell well. I think they 'deserve' it, but unfortunately they just may not be as popular as the artists that sell well.
Like for instance I really love the S/S single and wished more people would feel the same way, however I can't change it
I'm happy with the sales though!!
