I would put him way above Max actually. If you look at the number of songs produced and often times written by Tetsuya it is amazing. There was hardly a week in the 90s where he didn't have a song somewhere in the top 10. He was ultimately responsible for the success of several different artists. Max on the other hand I would say his only real claim to fame has been Ayumi. You could even maybe say that Max just got really lucky with her since he hasn't really had a major success since. Plus Max is more of a manager type and Komuro was a song writer/producer.
