red line ~for ta~ = It's obviously the red thread of fate, someone else already pointed out. It's a recurring theme in Japan it seems. I remember it was in Nana (Manga) and there is a drama series/movie with the title Akai Ito, basically about that red thread as well. Just search for
Red string of fate and you're likely to find some info on that one.
